I’ve thought about this concept for a long time. Who people have at the center of their life shows. I’m not perfect, neither are you. No one is. But there’s something I’ve thought about for awhile now and God has placed it on my heart to share with whoever may need to hear it, even if it’s just 1 person, it’s worth it.

There’s good and evil in the world— whether you believe in God or not. There’s explicit songs for their content, there are R rated movies, and there are stores with blacked out windows, you get the idea— people know there are limits to things and while not necessarily believing in God or know that there’s a set of morals that come with it that God sets in place for us to follow, they still understand that there is good and bad. I want these words to have grace covered with them and the love of God to flow through them. I’m not here to condemn or judge, I want to lay out what the Bible says. God is black and white. There is no such thing as a “grey area”. His laws are good, pure, and timeless. You either follow them or you don’t. They are simply without flaw. He’s set into place the ways our hearts should live— pure and honoring to him. I think a lot of people have softened their morals and believe in God but don’t have a relationship with him. To have the fear of the Lord shapes how you live and every decisions you make brings you closer or further from the cross. My prayer tonight is this, that you may know God on a deeper level and seek him with your whole being. To live for him and his ways. His ways protect us. They give us instruction to live a life pleasing to God, not to harm us. God loves you and has such good plans for you if you surrender your life to him. To look at the laws he’s set into place with fresh eyes. To put to death bad habits and temptations. To seek a king and be his friend. To walk humbly and love wholeheartedly. Life is by zero means easy. It’s just not. We all sin and fall short. But when you start to live what you hope for, it’s shapes every single thing you do. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. I pray that the God who made you would show you what you’ve been missing out on. That life with the king is so much better than a life you live to forget. It’s not about religion, it’s about a relationship. Seek him, read his word, follow him, honor his laws, pray, love those who are hard to love, choose the path of Jesus and never stray from it.

Find your life when you lay it down.

A pretty sunset and a conversation with Jesus at 2am July 30th. I wish I would’ve shared it then but I didn't know if it was put too harshly. So, I asked a friend if it was too “harsh” but as I asked the question I laughed at myself. The gospel isn’t harsh, it gives eternal life. It’s only harsh to those who object the concept of putting to death their worldly sin, picking up their cross and truly following Jesus.

I love you to tell you these things maybe some people are afraid to.

We live in a world that seems to have blurred the lines and muddled the red letters of Jesus. People have put in their own minds what God approves or disapproves of and entirely setting aside the fear of the Lord.

I want to remind you that there is freedom on the other side of this fear. You won’t be chained to the law of God, rather set free from the chains of this world. Gods grace reaches no end and his love is boundless.

There’s such a better life on the other side when you walk with Jesus.

I pray that you would make it a priority to not just say you believe in God but that you would fear Him with all your heart.

To have a relationship with Him and live in such a way people can’t deny who you walk with.

“Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfected of faith.”

Hebrews 12:1-2
